Booking Terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings serviced by Makeup by Kirsten Peterson. By booking an appointment and paying a deposit/booking fee, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Makeup by Kirsten Peterson.

Kirsten Peterson reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without notice.

  

Location

All in-studio bookings are conducted at Kirsten Peterson’s home studio located in Junction Village, VIC 3977.
Clients are responsible for familiarising themselves with the location and allowing sufficient travel time to avoid delays.

 

 Travel & Parking (Mobile Bookings)

  • Travel fees apply depending on location and will be advised at the time of quoting once the service location is confirmed.

  • If the confirmed location differs from the original quote, additional travel fees may apply.

  • Clients must ensure suitable parking is available at the service location, including street parking, permit zones, or paid parking.

  • Any parking costs incurred must be paid by the client and may be added to the final invoice if not prepaid.

  • For bookings requiring travel exceeding two (2) hours, a hotel allowance or day rate may be added to the invoice.

  

Appointment Timing & Late Arrivals

  • Clients must arrive on time with a clean, makeup-free face and/or clean hair to maximise appointment time and avoid additional charges.

  • Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may result in cancellation of the booking, forfeiture of the deposit/booking fee, and the remaining service balance being charged.

  • Failure to attend an appointment will result in forfeiture of the deposit/booking fee, with the remaining service amount charged in full.

 

Bridal Bookings

  • Suggested bridal start times are non-negotiable.

  • If bridal party members are late, additional charges apply for every 15 minutes the hair or makeup chair remains vacant.

  • Each makeup application requires approximately 75 minutes. Scheduling is based on ceremony time and photographer arrival.

  • Requests from photographers or videographers for filming or photography during pack-up or departure time are not included in service time.

  • The bride’s hair and makeup should not be scheduled last to avoid delays and additional charges.

  • Clients are kindly asked to minimise distractions (e.g. phone use, multiple conversations, childcare interruptions) as these may impact timing.

  

Deposits & Payments

In-Studio Bookings

  • A $50 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit/booking fee is required to secure all in-studio appointments.

  • The remaining balance is payable on the day of the appointment.

  • Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit has been received.

  • Failure to pay the deposit within the specified timeframe will result in the booking being released.

Bridal / Mobile / Group Bookings

  • A 30% non-refundable, non-transferable deposit/booking fee is required to secure all bridal, mobile, or group bookings.

  • Separate non-refundable deposits are required for bridal trials and wedding day bookings.

  • Deposits will be deducted from the final invoice, which must be paid in full 14 days prior to the wedding date.

  • Failure to pay deposits or balances by the due dates may result in cancellation of the booking.

  

Bridal Trials

  • Bridal trials are strongly recommended to ensure a smooth and stress-free wedding day.

  • Trials are generally conducted in-studio and include a full consultation, skin preparation advice, and one complete hair and makeup look.

  • Trial appointments are up to 120 minutes.

  • Additional trials may be booked at the standard trial rate.

 

Pricing & Quotes

  • All prices are subject to change without notice.

  • Quotes are valid for one (1) month from the date issued. Expired quotes require re-quoting at current rates.

Cancellations

General

All booking fees and deposits are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.

In-Studio Cancellations

  • Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur the full service amount.

Bridal / Mobile Cancellations

  • Reductions in bridal party size do not alter the original quoted price.

  • Cancelled bridal party members may be replaced; however, fees remain non-refundable if replacements are not secured.

  • Additional services may be added subject to availability and will be charged at current rates.

  • If a wedding booking is cancelled within 14 days of the wedding date, the remaining balance is payable in full.

  

Artist Availability

  • In the event Kirsten is unable to fulfil a booking due to medical reasons, reasonable efforts will be made to arrange a replacement artist; however, this cannot be guaranteed.

  • If no replacement is available, a full refund will be issued.

  • In the event of a pandemic or government-imposed lockdown, Kirsten will attempt to reschedule where possible, though alternative dates cannot be guaranteed.

Photography & Social Media

  • By attending an appointment, clients consent to Makeup by Kirsten Peterson using photographs and/or video content of the service for portfolio, marketing, and social media purposes.

  • Clients may request that images or footage not be used; this request must be communicated prior to the appointment.

   

Clothes Steamers & Champagne Sprays

To ensure the longevity and quality of finished hair and makeup, the following guidelines apply:

  • All garment steaming is strongly recommended to be completed the night before the booking.

  • If garment steaming must occur on the day, it must be done in a separate room and by a person who has not yet had their hair or makeup completed.

  • Steam and humidity can negatively affect hair and makeup, including causing curls to drop, frizz, and makeup to break down.

  • Champagne sprays are fun and encouraged; however, once hair and makeup services are complete, any styles affected by champagne spray cannot always be easily corrected.

  • Once services are completed, responsibility for maintaining finished hair and makeup rests with the client. Additional touch-ups required due to steam, moisture, or champagne spray may incur extra charges and are subject to time availability.

  

Health & Safety

  • Makeup by Kirsten Peterson is not responsible for allergic reactions to products used.

  • Clients must disclose any allergies, sensitivities, or skin conditions prior to their appointment.

  • Clients with known sensitivities must provide their own products if required.

  • Clients must not attend appointments if experiencing contagious conditions (including but not limited to cold/flu symptoms, cold sores, conjunctivitis, or contagious skin conditions).

  • Kirsten reserves the right to refuse service if health and safety standards are compromised. In such cases, deposits remain non-refundable.

  • Strict hygiene and sanitation practices are maintained at all times.

Studio Conduct & Safety

  • Clients are expected to behave respectfully at all times. Aggressive, threatening, abusive, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

  • Kirsten Peterson reserves the right to refuse or immediately terminate services if she feels threatened, intimidated, or unsafe. In such cases, all payments and deposits will be forfeited and are non-refundable.

  • Smoking or vaping is strictly prohibited in the studio and at the hair or makeup chair.

  • Kirsten Peterson reserves the right to ask any client to leave the studio or service location if rules or safety standards are breached.

Personal Belongings

Makeup by Kirsten Peterson is not responsible for the loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings brought into the studio or service location. Clients are advised to keep valuables with them at all times.

Communication

Any changes to booking details (including timing, location, or services) must be communicated as early as possible to allow for adjustments.

  

Liability

Makeup by Kirsten Peterson is not liable for any skin reactions, injuries, or complications arising from services provided. While all reasonable care is taken to ensure safety and hygiene, clients acknowledge that reactions may still occur and accept responsibility for their own health and wellbeing.

  

Final Acknowledgements

These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings serviced by Makeup by Kirsten Peterson. By paying a deposit, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms.
Kirsten Peterson reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without notice.
